Homeless Kitten by Kar Men RAW
I was running an errand for my mum and was on my way back home when faint mewing sounds startled me. The mewing grew louder and louder as I approached the nearby bushes. Following the direction of the source of the sound, I threaded carefully across the patch of grass so as to not frighten the mewing animal.
Then, a kitten popped up from a shallow drain. It's fur was unkempt and it had scruffy ears. I reached out a gentle hand, offering it some help...the kitten however, pulled back and hesitated awhile before limping up to me. This weak and helpless kitten was scrawny and I bet that it is starving too. I looked into it's round amber eyes that seemed to capture me. From then, I knew that my heart was moved.
I rescued the kitten from it's plight. When we reached home, I pulled out my first aid kit and bandaged it up as gently as I could. Soon after that, I brought it to the kitchen and let it drink some milk from a saucer. The slurping sound that it made attracted my mum as she came in looking shocked. She questioned me abut the kitten and I confessed everything to her. My mum reprimanded me for bringing a cat in without her permission. She stated that she was allergic to cats and felt uncomfortable with it around the house.
So, we brought it to the veterinarian and he advised that we should bring it to the SPCA for it to be adopted by others. I got all teary eyed as I bade the kitten farewell. It was such a letdown.
