My personal hero or should I say heroine...//

I did not know about a Taylor Swift till I heard her song play on the radio. That very day, I sat down on my usual chair in my study with a science textbook opened, preparing to burn the midnight oil. As I switched between radio channels, I heard this mellifluous voice, singing about love that can never be. The lyrics so well put together; and unlike the usual pop or hip hop songs on the radio, this was something new and raw. The song: Teardrops On My Guitar.
Taylor pretty much wrote songs ever since the age of ten. In school, she struggled to make friends and spends most of her time alone on the outside looking in. So, one day Taylor decided that since people had not always been there for her but music has; she poured herself into writing songs. It was after much hard work and effort before she managed to get a record label that allowed her to write her own songs.
I really admire Taylor for her courage and determination to go all out and get what she wanted. Not many of people made it big writing/singing country music. To venture out of the norm is indeed a very fearless thing to do as one do not know how the audience might react. What really got into me were her songs: how much emotions each song held and the new type of genre that I am introduced to. One may not get to catch country music everyday on radio but with Taylor’s success, country music has became more opened to people all over the world.
Her songs are mostly about love, romance and meeting one’s prince charming but there are several
tracks about her tough life at school in which there are days she goes to school wondering if anyone would walk up and say hi to her. Music was her escape, her passion and everything that made her what she truly is today.
I am not only a huge fan of hers but I look up to her like how a little sister would. I believe that she is a role model to young women and little girls. Taylor goes on shows and tells us that we should believe in ourselves and not let others judge us. She also shows willingness to help the unfortunate by making donations and proceeds from merchandise sales to different charitable foundations.
Standing in front of a large crowd and performing one’s number is something brave and respectable. To get over one’s past and start a fresh is something rather hard and not many accomplished that. Her songs are just like her personal diary, brimming up with so much feelings. Listening to her songs are equivalent to reading her journal, and with that one can relate to her songs much like how people share secrets. And so, I will continue to support and listen to her songs for she is my personal hero.

*dances* NO MORE HW! Oh wait, *cries* still have the planning of Cinderella. Meh.
