Review: The Iron King by Julie Kagawa //

16 year old Meghan Chase had always felt as though she never fit in; be it school or home. Everything starts to unravel before her very eyes as she sets out on a journey to rescue her stolen little brother from Nevernever (Land of Fey). She soon finds out that she's the daughter of a mythical faery king, and what will become of her love for a young prince with an icy heart...
Finished it – yay for reading on the train!~
I'm a sucker for shounen and shoujo and this is a mix of both which made me really happy and glad that I picked it up. The hero has character and depth; Meghan is very likable and relatable – those parts in the mortal world anyway. The my fetish for cats is satiated here too! A talking cat! YESH! Ha! And the prince – first thing I thought was: Ash? Isn't that the pokemon guy name? XD Anyway, he's a good match for our hero. Yay! New shipping... >.<
This book is people friendly; great for people who have never read anything about faeries – not Tinkerbell-ish type – before and want a good adventure/romance/fantasy book. ;P Labels: Book, Julie Kagawa, Reading, The Iron King

Reading: Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen //

Not your typical high school shoujo love story. In a more olden era setting like Romeo and Juliet except for the fact that the main couple are of different countries and part of the ruling families.
ZHD is about this couple pretending to be lovers so that their respective countries would not start a war with each other. This is NOT planned by anyone and only the both of them know about this 'little' secret of theirs.
This manga has comedy (made me ROFL loads of time), a little romance here and there (hint hint) and some action, fighting...in later chapters...I think. Great plot, the only glitch is that it's not updated frequently. *sighs* We manga readers must be patient~ *tears* I know, the wait is killing me too...

Reading: Percy Jackson and the Olympians(The Lightning Thief) //
Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:40 PM
This is my current read when I travel on the dreaded MRT to and from work. You don't see this edition much in Singapore, most are Puffin published. I bought this book in Korea for a relatively low price. There was only a small english section in that book store. Most were adult novels, there was the Twilight Saga of course and this book tucked away in a dusty little corner, crying out: Pick me! Pick me! *laughs*
I love Greek Mythology and am always fascinated by the stories and legends. This is not the first time I read story books with Greek myths in them. I like the way it's written in the protagonist's point of view, Percy or should I say Perseus... Haha~ He hates it when people uses his real name. Anyway, it's a great read and Avelin can vouch for that, she has the exact same book as me! Actually, I copied her. Hehe~
This book has LOTS of action in it. Hah~ A fan of fantasy, action and sheer humor would love this book. *peace* Labels: Book, Jackson, Lightning Thief, Percy, PJ, Reading, Rick Riordan

Reading: hush, hush //

I like spending money on books. It's just a habit that I cannot kick. *sighs*
My mom would nag at me to go to the library to borrow them instead of spending $20-30 on one book. When I was younger, it used to be around $15 per book, now...
I just have to have them!
I bought this book at Changi International Airport: hush, hush
You know how I'm a sucker for romance.. And fantasy. Well, this book have both ROMANCE and FANTASY in it! About angels, fallen angels, guys...etc. It's a good read that would make you bite your nails to the core! Move over Twilight! *laughs* Summary here. ^^

Watching/Reading Tagami Bachi (Letter Bee) //
Tuesday, November 17, 2009 @ 10:07 AM
I know this manga but I haven't got the chance to read it till now. Then I came across the anime while searching for new ones to watch and I was very much glued to the screen and at the edge of my seat. It's still ongoing for both anime and manga. It's hard to give a summary...So, here's the link: Letter Bee 1 Judge it for yourself! The first thing that captured my attention as I watched was the voice of Gauche. It sounds really nice. The curious me went to check the voice actor of Gauche. Jun Fukuyama. The same person who did Lelouch in Code Geass. Okay, no wonder he sounds so familiar. Anyway, Tagami Bachi is a really nice story, yes it's shonen so don't expect much romance. The mangaka style is quite unique as you can see. Go on click on the link... I know you want to. Watching/Reading Kimi Ni Todoke //
Monday, November 16, 2009 @ 1:01 PM
I admit that I'm a hopeless romantic, always looking out for new romance novels, manga...etc. I've been following this story since it first came out.
Sawako Kuronuma, has always been feared and misunderstood because of her appearance. There are rumors that Sawako can see ghosts and curse people. But when her idol, popular boy Kazehaya, begins talking with her, everything changed. She finds herself in a new world, trying to make friends and talking to different people and she can't thank Kazehaya enough for giving her these opportunities. Slowly, but surely, a sweet love is blossoming between the two as they will overcome any circumstance or obstacles in their way. Summary taken from wikipedia.
It's nicer and funnier than it sounds, really!
The anime is out too! Here's a link, if you wanna watch it: Kimi Ni Todoke 1 There's a manga but I'm lazy to give a link, find it yourself! Enjoy! Labels: Anime, Kimi Ni Todoke, Manga, Reading, Watching
